President Joe Biden said vaccines are being distributed inequitably, but the Texas Republican Party chairman is calling those remarks "racist."
"It's offensive and condescending, but that's what to be expected of the Democrats," Lt. Col. Allen West, who is Black, told Fox News' "Fox & Friends Weekend." "Just think this past week at his town hall meeting, President Joe Biden said, basically, that Blacks and Hispanics are too dumb to be able to go online and to make these appointments.
"In a way, that was a slap in the face. That was a very racist comment."
West noted if Democrats are failing to vaccinate Blacks and other minorities it is because of their own failed leadership in the urban areas they have controlled for decades.
"The Democratic Party has established 21st century plantations in our urban population centers," West added. "There is a lack of economic growth and opportunity. There's a lack of good, quality medical facilities there, and those are the places where we see Democrats that are in charge.
"So, they have made power decisions over the years and Black community has been, sadly, the victims of that."
