A former congressman who is now running for governor of Virginia released a campaign ad that features an ambulance being crushed as he bashes Republicans' plans to repeal and replace Obamacare.

"Republican leaders are trying to do this to affordable healthcare," Tom Perriello said while standing in front of a hydraulic car crusher that was destroying a white and teal colored ambulance.

"I'm Tom Perriello, and in Congress, I voted for Obamacare because it was wrong that a million Virginians weren't covered while insurance companies held all the power."

Perriello will face Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam in next month's primary. The general election is slated for this fall.

"Now I'm running for governor because it's wrong that most Virginia incomes haven't gone up in 20 years," he said.

"Together, we can stop Donald Trump, raise wages, and build an economy that works for everyone. And we'll make sure this never happens in Virginia."

The House passed the American Health Care Act on Thursday, the Obamacare replacement bill that is now in the hands of the Senate.
