President Donald Trump isn't helping himself or the country by tweeting about special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Il., said Tuesday.
"I don't think it's helpful at all. Whenever you tweet, there can be trouble," Kinzinger told CNN. "Especially when it is a tweet based out of kind of what is going on at the moment, so I wish he didn't."
After FBI agents raided the office and hotel room of Trump's longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen, Trump tweeted:
Although the search is apparently not directly linked to Mueller's investigation, the agents did receive a referral from the special counsel that was likely based on evidence his team uncovered in its investigation.
"For me, I just want to say, at the end when we get answers, we'll figure it out from there," Kinzinger added. "Justice needs to be served in whatever capacity so it's not an attack on our country."
