Neil Ferguson earned the nickname "Professor Lockdown" after stunning the world with his March prediction that without drastic measures COVID-19 would kill up to 2.2 million Americans.
Ferguson, the co-founder of the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis at Imperial College London, went even further. He warned, even if the United States implemented "enhanced social distancing," it could still suffer 1 million fatalities.
