Dr. Samadi: Eat Right, Exercise More to Avoid Obesity Epidemic

By    |   Friday, 21 February 2014 04:41 PM EST

Americans must choose the foods they eat with greater care and exercise more regularly to avoid obesity, according to Dr. David Samadi, chairman of urology and chief of robotic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital.

"When you have all this high fructose corn syrup in our food and … take a lot of it without exercise, that's what we have," Samadi told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"We're seeing patients coming in, [who are] 300, 500 pounds. That's not normal.

"We need to make sure that we eat the right portion, the right food, and start exercising."
