Taxpayers are more focused on the benefits ahead for them in the recently passed GOP tax cut bill than arguments from Democrats that the cuts mostly go to corporations and the very rich, according to Rep. Will Hurd, R-Texas.
In an interview Thursday on "The Joe Pags Show" on Newsmax TV, Hurd decried the "rhetoric" from "my friends from the other side of the aisle."
"Most hard-working taxpayers recognize that everyone is going to benefit from what we just did," he said, adding Democratic opposition to the bill is "disingenuous and disinformation."

He also hailed the bonuses and benefits announced from companies like Comcast, AT&T, Boeing, and Wells Fargo.
"Not only is it are you seeing working-class folks getting pay raises, you're also seeing companies investing in training for their employees," Hurd said. "You're seeing companies investing in their capital and in one of these big Internet service providers are increasing the amount of capital expenditures that they're doing to improve their service. These are all good things."
"It's a real opportunity," he added of the tax bill. "I think because there's so much disinformation out there about this some people are suspicious, some people are careful — but in this first quarter when they're seeing a little bit of their own pockets I think people are going to be very excited."
"The American people can celebrate that this really once in a lifetime achievement has been done and it's going to be something good for all of us," he declared.
