Expect to hear more interesting propositions from the Vatican synod on family life, says Newsmax Vatican contributor Ed Pentin.
"This synod is aimed at trying to communicate the church's teaching in a way that people will understand and perhaps support," Pentin told J.D. Hayworth and Miranda Khan on "America's Forum" on

He said that some of the propositions made have "been quite radical." For example, "there's been talk about streamlining the annulment procedure and even giving appeals to annulments to local bishops, which would be quite a big step."

Pope Francis opened the synod by telling the bishops that he wants them to speak freely and to "work generously with authentic freedom and humble creativity" as they discuss topics such as abortion, contraception, homosexuality and divorce.
"I think they are quite unafraid to speak their minds," Pentin said. "I think in the next few days we're going to hear quite a few more interesting propositions coming the synod fathers."
