President Joe Biden and his agenda focused on alternative energy, job-killing policies, and climate change are ultimately doing Republicans a favor in efforts to retake the House majority in 2022, according to Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., on Newsmax TV.
"With Democrats holding every lever of power in Washington, D.C., that's bad news for them," Emmer, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee told Wednesday's "Spicer & Co."
Emmer told host Sean Spicer and Lyndsay Keith that Republicans "warned" voters about Biden.
"They just don't seem to pay attention to what the voters, Americans, want," Emmer said. "We ran, and won, in districts all across the country in 2021 by highlighting Joe Biden and Democrats' anti-energy agenda."
The results of Biden's early executive orders and climate-change push amid a pandemic in shaky economic times will speak for themselves, and for Republican candidates in 2022, he added.
"Believe me, we are going to highlight over the next two years Joe Biden and the socialist Democrats' radical left agenda that is killing not only energy jobs, but other jobs across this country and the serious impact that it's going to have on the everyday lives of middle-class Americans," Emmer said.
As for former President Donald Trump seeking to primary the 10 Republicans led by Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., No. 3 in the House GOP, Emmer said the NRCC he chairs is going to stay out of primaries of "campaign-tested representatives."
"They will answer to their constituents," he said.
"The NRCC, we have taken the position that we actually do not play in primaries and we will continue to do that."
