Howie Carr: Why Would Anyone Buy Funeral Director's Book?

By    |   Thursday, 01 May 2014 07:25 PM EDT

The Boston Herald columnist Howie Carr says that he's not sure if anyone will buy the book written by the funeral director who buried the suspected Boston Marathon bomber.

"I mean, I can't imagine a publisher ever making back an advance for this guy's story. It's not even a magazine story, as far as I can see. It's just a newspaper story," Carr told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV.

However, Carr said that "he had a tough time," but that the gathering that took place outside the funeral home "wasn't . . . any kind of organized protest or anything. People were just really angry about what happened in Boston."

They were mostly angry that they were going to be "stuck with the body" and having to pay for it "to be sent back to Russia" after it was learned that Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had been supported by the U.S. government while they lived here.

However, Carr said that the funeral director's book is not "a continuation of the terrorist brothers as victims narrative."
