Charles Hurt: Obama Call for Billions to Aid Illegals Bad for Dems

President Barack Obama's request for $3.7 billion to aid in dealing with the U.S.-Mexico border crisis will hurt Democrats, according to Washington Times columnist Charles Hurt.

"This administration is going to spend literally billions of dollars in order to deal with this,'' Hurt said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"They're going … to find housing, and in some cases luxurious housing, for these illegals who do not belong in this country. The idea that he would do that understandably upsets a lot of people, a lot of his traditional supporters….

"This is something that's going to hurt Democrats just as it would hurt Republicans if they were to pull a stunt like this.''
