The United States should defund the "anti-Semitic" United Nations Security Council, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach told Newsmax TV.
The political arm of the U.N. has become an anti-Israeli group, Boteach told "The Steve Malzberg Show." This week, President-elect Donald Trump insisted the U.N. is simply a "club."

"It's not just a club that is benign, it's a sinister club," Boteach said. "We should focus on the humanitarian side, but we should absolutely be defunding the Security Council, the political section of the UN, which is an anti-Semitic organization whose obsession with Israel is actually to the detriment to the rest of mankind.
"We have to call the U.N. what it is, it has become a deeply anti-Semitic organization with a very unhealthy obsession with Jews."
Boteach, who is known as "America's rabbi," added President Barack Obama sat idly as innocent civilians have been killed in Aleppo, Syria.
"He was too busy because he was crafting a resolution to condemn Israel," Boteach said, who then called Obama "a bystander to genocide."
