Pete Hoekstra agrees with Bill Clinton's recent assessment that Obamacare is a "crazy system," the former lawmaker told Newsmax TV Wednesday.
"I stand with Bill Clinton. I think he's absolutely right," Hoekstra told host Bill Tucker on "Newsmax Prime."
"It's a crazy system, it's hurting 60 million middle-class Americans and it's going to get to the point where their premiums are skyrocketing. They already are and their benefits are being cut in half.
"This law needs to go," added Hoekstra, the author of "Architects of Disaster: The Destruction of Libya."
Former President Clinton said this week while stumping for his wife on the presidential campaign trail the government-run Obamacare system "doesn't make any sense."

Hoekstra also discussed Republican Donald Trump's recent tax revelations. Last weekend, The New York Times reported that Trump lost nearly $1 billion in 1995 and likely did not pay taxes for 18 years after that — which was legal via a section of the tax code.
"I don't know an American that looks at the tax code and says, 'let me take advantage of the tax code so I can pay more taxes,'" Hoekstra said.
"Everybody uses the tax code for their advantage and they use it because that is what government tells them to do.
"Donald knows how the tax code works, he's the one that can actually go and go into the office and redesign a tax code that is fair for all Americans, but most important is one that will drive economic growth and prosperity through the private sector."
