Ophir Falk to Newsmax: Iran's Buried Missiles Could Have Been 'Immune'

By    |   Tuesday, 03 March 2026 06:34 PM EST

Ophir Falk, a foreign policy adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Newsmax on Tuesday that Iran moved its ballistic missiles underground, to avoid their detection.

Asked about whether additional nuclear sites were being uncovered beyond those hit in earlier strikes, Falk pointed to what he described as results from last June.

"So last June, in the 12-day war, as President [Donald] Trump said, 'We obliterated their nuclear facilities,'" Falk said on "The Record With Greta Van Susteren."

Falk then argued that the period immediately afterward changed the nature of the problem.

"But what happened immediately thereafter, the ayatollah regime doubled down on producing missiles, ballistic missiles," he said, framing the surge as a quick return to production.

He said the effort then focused on concealment and survivability. "They were digging down to put these missiles underground," Falk said, describing a move he suggested was designed to protect launch capabilities from airstrikes.

Falk cast the underground work as a narrowing window for military action. "They would become immune if we didn't take that out," he said.

Separate from Falk's comments, the Israeli military has publicly described striking what it called a secret, underground nuclear headquarters site known as Min Zadai, a site tied to nuclear-related work, according to The Associated Press.

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin announced that the air force has destroyed around 300 Iranian missile launchers since the war began.

He identified Min Zadai, northeast of Tehran, as a site connected to weapons development, noting that IDF intelligence tracked nuclear scientists attempting to visit covertly.

Falk said that Iran was trying to protect the missiles by going underground.
