Attorney General Eric Holder's trip to the racially-inflamed city of Ferguson "actually interferes with the proper criminal justice system," says Linda Chavez, chairperson of the Center for Equal Opportunity.
"You've got the top law enforcement agent in the country basically going in, starting a civil rights investigation, which implies that he thinks there was a civil rights violation in an incident where we have not had a grand jury examination of all the evidence, we do not know the facts," Chavez said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.

She said Holder's intervention in the community, where the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown sparked riots, comes as the media, politicians and activists continue "this mantra of the unarmed black teenager shot by a white police officer."
"That mantra itself is so inaccurate in terms of the way in which it prejudices what happened," said Chavez, who is also a syndicated columnist.
"You're talking about someone in Mike Brown who was caught on a surveillance tape literally minutes before he encountered the officer, Officer [Darren] Wilson, showing strong-arming, picking up, pushing, violently against a stack of goods, a store clerk, stealing.
"So all of these things suggest that there are at least two sides to this story and yet you have the top law enforcement agent in the country coming in and acting as if it's a racist cop that's gunned down some innocent kid just minding his own business on the streets of Ferguson. That's just terribly wrong."
Holder, an African American, said he considered the Ferguson case personal.
