Marilinda Garcia, a New Hampshire state representative running for Congress, says Republicans must be able to communicate with voters if they want to beat the Democratic machine.
"We have not been effective communicators of our message," Garcia told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"And … we have to spend our time, frankly, defending ourselves from extremely divisive, harsh, and frankly deceitful rhetoric that comes from the other side, from the president himself, from the Democratic establishment, and the media. So that's the problem. "

Garcia, who is in her fourth term as a representative in the Granite State, said she has been campaigning hard. "I was just out all day speaking to different groups, even doing door knocking, which I'm quite used to coming from the state rep level," she said.
"That, by in large, [is] what most of campaigning entails overall."
Garcia is facing U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster for New Hampshire's 2nd Congressional District seat.
"She's a first term rep, she hasn't hosted a single town hall during her time in Congress here in the state, which is really shocking," Garcia said. "Further than that she, of course has voted 100 percent of the time … with the Obama administration …
"I've seen the deleterious effects that the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare has had in my state. In fact, The Wall Street Journal said that our state is the worst example, or shall I say the best example, of the adverse of consequences of this law."
