Democrats are poised to further damage their party — and their chances of recapturing the White House in four years are doomed — if they continue squabbling with Republicans on Capitol Hill, veteran political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV.
"They still can't believe that Hillary [Clinton] lost, and that Donald Trump won, and so they're still fighting the election of Nov. 8 – and it's just an absolute failure," Reagan said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

One example, according to Reagan, the son of the late President Ronald Reagan, is Democratic Sen. Cory Booker's reported plan to testify against fellow Sen. Jeff Sessions, Trump's pick for attorney general. It would be the first time a sitting senator testifies against another sitting senator at a confirmation hearing.
"If they keep on going in this direction, and I hope they do, they're guaranteeing Donald Trump eight years of the White House, instead of four years at the White House," Reagan said.
"Because they have not learned a thing since Nov. 8, and that was proven the other night [at] the Golden Globes and elsewhere."
Reagan was referring to Oscar-winner Meryl Streep's criticism of Trump as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the glitzy awards ceremony.
Reagan is the author of "Lessons My Father Talk Me: The Strength, the Integrity and Faith of Ronald Reagan," written with Jim Denney and published by Humanix.
