Mediaite's Rothman: Obama's 'Rhetoric' Rises as Shutdown Lingers

By    |   Friday, 04 October 2013 08:47 PM EDT

Noah Rothman, editor of the media watchdog website Mediaite.com, says President Barack Obama has been turning up the rhetoric when it comes to ripping Republicans on the government shutdown.

Story continues below video.

"There's never been too much of an interest in actually keeping the rhetoric down from the president," Rothman said.

"As he said to John Harwood on CNBC the other day, he believes — whether he believes it or not — he says he believes that he's kept his rhetoric down, that he's been cordial and not inflammatory."
