Intelligence reports of possible al-Qaeda terrorist attacks on U.S. soil before Tuesday's presidential election point to nothing specific, Rep. Louie Gohmert, vice chair of the House subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security Committee, tells Newsmax TV.
But they are part the new American "way of life" being peddled by the Democratic administration — one that doesn't have to be that way, Gohmert, a Texas Republican, told host Steve Malzberg Friday on "America Talks Live."
"Obviously there's not been a lot of specifics because they don't know a lot of specifics. If they did, they would be telling us," Gohmert said.
"But this is an ongoing threat, this is basically … because of [the president's] foreign and domestic policies that have not protected us. We're being told by Homeland Security these are things we've just got to get used to, it is a way of life, and I'm telling you that is not true."
Gohmert said that if Hillary Clinton is elected president, she will continue to be "as friendly" to and and "cater" as much to radical Muslim influence as he believes President Barack Obama has.
"Then we're in big trouble. But this does not have to be something we get used to … We've got to put them back in the box, that's how you have any peace since the origination of radical Islam," Gohmert said.
