Sen. Graham: Obama's Syrian Plan Makes Him Look Weak

By    |   Sunday, 01 November 2015 08:29 PM EST

President Barack Obama's plan to send 50 special forces into Syria actually just makes him look weak to our enemies and allies alike, Sen. Lindsey Graham, long a hawk on American ground troops in Syria, said Sunday.

Sending only 50 people shows the Islamic State (also known as ISIS and ISIL) that Obama is not all in, Graham told "Fox News Sunday."

"It is a sign of weakness to ISIL. They have sized Obama up and they think he's weak," Graham said. "To our allies, sending 50 troops means we're not committed to destroying ISIL and if we're not committed to destroying ISIL, they'll attack us here."

The personnel are being sent in with no chance of winning, Graham said.

"This is an incremental change with no chance of success," he said.
