President Donald Trump can put a tax reform package on the table even if the American Health Care Act is voted down — although it won't be as easy, says. Rep. Lee Zeldin, a New York Republican.
"Yes [it's possible], however it's a better tax-reform package if you are able to do the healthcare piece first because of the changes that you get by repealing the Obamacare taxes," Zeldin said Friday to Steve Malzberg on Newsmax's TV's "America Talks Live."

"The changes to the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare] current federal law results in $1 trillion of savings as you move on to tax reform, which could be the difference of 10 points with corporate income tax. There might be a difference between getting down to 30 percent or getting down to 20 percent."
As the minutes ticked down to Friday's scheduled vote, CNN reported that House Republicans don't appear to have the votes to pass the bill in its current form. The network cites a source who said the situation is "not good. Not good at all."
