John Zogby: Abortion Ruling Will Energize Pro-Life Movement

John Zogby: Abortion Ruling Will Energize Pro-Life Movement

The Supreme Court decision knocking down provisions of a restrictive Texas abortion law will act like a "stick of dynamite" to energize the pro-life movement, pollster John Zogby tells Newsmax TV.

In an interview Monday with "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth, Zogby, author of "We Are Many, We Are One," said the high court's 5-3 ruling illustrates that the composition of the court "is an issue and continues to be an issue" that will affect the upcoming presidential election.

Though the Monday decision was a victory for abortion rights supporters, "even in the short run, the pro-life movement gets energized by this decision," Zogby asserts.

"Whatever side is responding to some sort of cataclysm, that's the side that tends to be highly energized and to get out their vote," he says.

"Of late, the pro-choice side has been winning the intensity battle, and the Supreme Court makeup has been an issue in their favor. This decision today is the sort of thing that will light a stick of dynamite."
