Strategists Sapp, Mancuso Spar Over Obama's Mideast Moves

With Secretary of State John Kerry visiting the Middle East amid violence in Iraq, two political strategists on Monday joined Newsmax TV's Ed Berliner on "MidPoint" to debate whether the Obama administration has done too little, too late in one of the world's most volatile places.

Democratic strategist Eric Sapp said the U.S. needs to approach a "complicated" conflict between Iraq's Sunnis and Shias with caution.

"We can't just jump into this," said Sapp.

Republican strategist Mary Anna Mancuso said the latest diplomatic activity only proves the White House had "nothing in place" in 2011 to prepare for the possibility of another calamity in Iraq.

"The problem is the administration got caught without having a plan when they needed one," Mancuso said.
