Financial analyst John Browne said the stock market’s initial drop on Friday after President Donald Trump announced he tested positive for the coronavirus didn’t worry him.
During a Friday appearance on Newsmax TV's "National Report," the former adviser to the president said he wasn't surprised that the market dropped, noting a similar reaction took place on Wednesday after the first presidential debate.
"Now, they are all recovering," he said of the market. "People are less worried about the president now because he's very robust and it appears he's got a mild attack."
He said the state of the market has gotten over the initial shock from the president’s virus diagnosis and is now focused on the economy.
He noted that the most recent jobs report "was not very good" because the pace of recovery is coming down.
He said the market is focused on whether another coronavirus relief package will be forthcoming. Browne ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for politicizing the virus and the stimulus. He alleged she doesn’t care about small businesses that are struggling.
