Conservative minister the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson blasted Democrats and special interest groups Thursday for using black voters and the mantle of civil rights to push their own agenda.
In an interview on Newsmax TV's "The Steve Malzberg Show," Peterson, president of the non-profit BOND (Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny) and a syndicated radio host, decried demands by Muslim students at the University of Maryland for a prayer room in every campus building.
"The Democrats have created another protected group, and it's the Muslims," Peterson said.
"Can you imagine what will happen if the Christians at that school say 'Hey, we want a special room for a bible class. We want a special room for fellowship.' They will be thrown out of that university."

Peterson argues "there's a double standard in America."
"Christians are hated, Muslims are protected, and that's what we see" in the University of Maryland case, he said.
"What I also dislike about this Muslim group – they're including black people as a part of their agenda, and they're doing it because they want to once again use black Americans in order to gain personal power and wealth," he said.
"All these special interest groups whenever they want something, they bring blacks in; they call it a civil rights issue, and they take advantage of black folks," he said. "If it can't be done for the Christians, then it cannot be done for the Muslims. "
