GOP Strategist: Timing of Benghazi Suspect's Capture 'Suspicious'

By    |   Wednesday, 18 June 2014 05:03 PM EDT

The fact that Benghazi terror suspect Ahmed Abu Khatallah was captured at this time is "a little suspicious" considering everything that is going in the world and in the United States in recent weeks, says Republican strategist and filmmaker Jason Killian Meath.

"This guy had all the subtlety of Lady Gaga. I mean, people knew where he was, people knew what he had done, we've known it for some time," Meath told Ed Berliner on "MidPoint" on Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"I give all the credit where credit should be due — to the special forces . . . but I'm not really sure that I can give full credit to Obama, because like a lot of things that he does and his administration does, this raises more questions than answers," he said.

"We need to be a little suspicious of the timing here," Meath said. "It's a little too nice and tidy the way that this was done, and the timing of when it was done.

"I mean, Hillary's on a book tour," he explained. "She's out there facing down questions every step of the way on Benghazi. She has very few, if any, answers.

"We also should question the fact that the Obama administration themselves blamed this attack originally . . . on a YouTube video, and then suddenly Obama describes out of the blue the ringleader of this operation has been caught," Meath added. "I'm not sure if it's a YouTube video, I don't know if it's this ringleader.

"Again, we've got a lot of confusion there, and nobody's really clearing it up."
