The return of LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he started his NBA career, is a big plus for hoops fans, says former ESPN Radio host Jared Max, who predicted the move.

"I predicted it. You know why? Because I don’t think there was any better script or bigger script for LeBron to have to fulfill than doing this,'' Max said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"We could agree he's the best basketball player on the planet that we know of right now. What else is there for him to do?''

James, 29, announced Friday that he was leaving the Miami Heat, which he joined four years ago, abandoning his home state in a move that infuriated Cavaliers fans.

"It's great for us as sports fans to see now what will LeBron do. Will he be able to fulfill his mission, his dream, his vision to win a championship in his home state and be welcomed back?''
