Expert: Newly Legal Immigrants to Compete With Poor

Joel Kotkin, executive editor of NewGeography.com, Chapman University's Roger Hobbs Distinguished Fellow in Urban Studies and author of "The New Class Conflict," joined Ed Berliner on "MidPoint" on Newsmax TV Monday to discuss what the effect of expanding amnesty to undocumented immigrants will likely be in the current economy and the effect it could have on the poor in America. Kotkin contends that it will add more people to the welfare rolls, potentially hurting America's poor among other things.
