Illegal immigration has plummeted 27 percent since December — and that dramatic drop in the number of undocumented aliens pouring into the United States is "absolutely" due to the election of President Donald Trump, Ken Cuccinelli, president of the Senate Conservatives Fund, tells Newsmax TV.
"Human beings are rational beings and they respond to incentives. If people are literally invited to come here and offered work opportunities — even though every American isn't working yet — and [offered] welfare, they're going to come for it," Cuccinelli said Tuesday to Steve Malzberg on "America Talks Live."

"If it's made clear that none of that is going to be easy or offered, there's less reason to come. So I look forward to seeing this [decline] month over month.
"Any one month's data can be misleading, so let's see what the trend is, but certainly I'd like to keep seeing this go in this direction as would the millions of our members."
One of Trump's campaign platforms was to stem the tide of illegal immigrants coming into the U.S., as well as deporting those already here without documentation.
