Former CIA analyst Fred Fleitz told Newsmax that Israel was responsible for the attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria and that troops stationed there were supplying arms to Hezbollah.
Speaking after his appearance on an "Arab language TV interview," Fleitz told "American Agenda" on Monday that while the panelists alongside him were outraged at Israel's attack on an Iranian embassy in Syria, according to Fleitz, the building had Iran Revolutionary Guard troops who were supplying arms to Hezbollah.
The guests on the Arab language program, Fleitz stated, were "outraged that Israel has violated international law and crossed a red line by destroying an Iranian consulate in Syria. This consulate is full of Iranian Revolutionary Guard troops who were running acts of terror, providing weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon."
"There was a comment a little while ago by an Israeli official and he simply said that Iran cannot hide behind its proxies. We see massive violations of international law by the rising terrorist proxies across the region, and unlike [President] Joe Biden, Israel's not going to be attacking empty warehouses."
Hours later, appearing on "Carl Higbie FRONTLINE" and speaking again on his Arab language TV interview, Fleitz commented that "Israel did take responsibility for this attack," and that "Iran broke international law by backing the Oct. 7 attack."
In the immediate days following the Oct. 7 terrorist attack, The Times of Israel reported that Iran did not claim responsibility for the attack and that Hamas did not inform Iran of the impending attack.
