Evangelist leader Franklin Graham told Newsmax TV on Friday that people should “so something for somebody you don’t know,” this holiday season.
When asked how people in the modern era can “rediscover the meaning of Christmas” on "America Talks Live," Graham said, “I would encourage people this Christmas: do something for somebody you don't know.”
“Buy a cup of coffee for somebody, stop and talk to somebody – engage. You know, we have so many people that are homeless, people that live on the streets, and it just shouldn't be in America,” added Graham, CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the relief organization Samaritan’s Purse.

newsm“We’re the richest nation on Earth, this just shouldn't happen, and we should be doing more for our poor, and more for those that are disadvantaged, and I would just encourage this Christmas: do something for somebody you don't know. And not only will it bless you, it’ll bless them.”
Graham added that Americans have “become just so self centered -- we think about ourselves and think inward, and we need to start thinking about others. You know, Jesus told us to love our neighbor as ourselves and our we've gotten away from that. We don't love our neighbors; we don't even know who our neighbors are. And I would encourage people to to get reconnected with who your neighbors are. Go out and say hello -- visit them.”
