Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd told Newsmax on Monday that Florida counts its votes quickly, allowing state results to be known on election night.
Byrd said over 8 million Floridians have voted in the election, with early voting increasing by 1 million voters from 2020.
"Floridians are excited to get out to vote, and the state's ready for tomorrow," Byrd said on "National Report." "There's a lot of enthusiasm in this election. And we do anticipate in certain places around the state that there will be lines. We ask everyone to be patient. And as long as a voter is in line at 7 p.m., they will be allowed to cast the ballot."
Byrd noted that Florida passed significant election integrity reform and that every Floridian's vote will be counted. He also said Florida will have its results finalized by Tuesday night.
"We've already been canvasing votes. So tomorrow night when the polls close, those election results will start to roll in," Byrd said. "So, on Election Day, the only results we are counting are Election Day results. So, you're going to know before you go to bed the results in Florida."
