Rep. Fred Keller, R-Pa., on Thursday slammed Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf's reopening plan in response to the coronavirus crisis, saying his "color-coded" guidance lacks any input from local elected officials.
In a fiery interview with Newsmax TV's "American Agenda," Keller ramped up criticism of Wolf, who threatened Monday to withhold federal funds and liability protections from businesses who ignore his guidelines and reopen on their own.
"What we haven't seen from the Wolf administration is a plan that follows logic or science," Keller said, branding the state's reopening guidance a "color-coded plan but without a lot of details."
"Don't try to do it yourself," he urged Wolf, noting governors around the country are making reopening plans for their own states, and warning: "What's best for New York or other places is not what's good for here."
"I would like to see the governor collaborate with people who have been elected . . . the general assembly and county commissioners . . . and run our commonwealth that way," he added.
According to Keller, Wolf "created this shutdown without any input form the legislative branch" and has "let people down on Main Street."
"They're the one that built" the state economy, he said, predicting once open again, "we're going to be the great comeback."
