President Barack Obama is attempting to expand the power of the presidency with his ongoing quest to use executive power and ignore Congress, says Kevin D. Williamson, a roving correspondent for National Review.
"It's a little like the velociraptors in 'Jurassic Park' always just sort of testing the fence to see where they could push and where they can get through,'' Williamson told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

"He's systematically trying to expand the power of the presidency because he's got a divided Congress, he can't do the things that he wants to do.
"He's unwilling to accept that he won his election and the people in the House won their elections too and we have co-equal branches of government, he just doesn't want to accept that.''
Williamson said the commander in chief sees himself as more of European-type prime minister who heads a unitarian government that will enact his policies.
But he also said lawmakers who speak of possibly impeaching the president are "kidding themselves.''
"We're nowhere close to politically being able to get that done, and it probably would be a pretty bad idea if we were even to try,'' Williamson said.
"But there are things that Congress can do, but ultimately it's not what [House Speaker] John Boehner does, it's what the American people do.
"The American people had a chance to weigh in on this in 2012 and they voted for four more years of it, so they're getting what they asked for.''
