A viral video showing alleged voter fraud in Fulton County, Ga., must be investigated, according to Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., on Newsmax TV. Asked by Sean Spicer on Spicer & Co. if the video has legs Collins said, no, it has more than legs, "it’s running a marathon right now.”
“There needs to be a serious investigation into this,” Collins added.
Attorneys for President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign presented video on Thursday that alleges to show Georgia's Fulton County poll workers counting ballots without monitors present. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office and county officials debunked the video.
Fulton County recertified its election results on Friday
“The question becomes, is there a viable answer for [the video]?” Collins said. “Then let’s let the secretary of state, let’s let the [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] , let’s let others look into it. But if there’s not, then it needs to be investigated. You can’t simply say, ‘Well we watched the video and this is what happened.’"
Collins said he and others were aware of issues in Fulton County before the video surfaced. He wants an investigation before Jan. 5, when Georgia will hold runoff elections for two seats in the U.S. Senate.
“Let’s make sure there’s a proper outside investigation and if it shows nothing, fine,” Collins said. “We’ve got to make sure these elections, for everybody’s mind, is good.”
