Author: Democracy in Middle East Is Not a 'Fool's Errand'

Don Liebich, author of "Fault Lines: A Layman's Guide to Understanding America's Role in the Ever-Changing Middle East," told Newsmax TV on Tuesday that "Middle Easterners by and large admire our freedom and admire our democracy."

But Liebich also told "MidPoint" host Ed Berliner that U.S. efforts to calm the region and promote participatory, pluralistic governments cannot ignore religion as a central organizing force in the lives of the Middle East's Muslims.
