President Donald Trump was "laying it on the line" with his tweet China had failed to rein in North Korea's nuclear and weapons ambitions, retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
"He was laying it on the line that you're not doing anything, and you've indicated at the dinner you would take some action – but yet we've seen none," Vallely told host Bill Tucker on "America Talks Live."

Vallely was referring to Trump's weekend summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping at his Florida resort in April.
"Trump's calling it forward, which he should be doing," he said. "That's what you have to do from a strategic level to confront the leaders.
"You're either working with us or you're working against us to some degree – and if you're not going to help us alleviate or solve that problem in North Korean, then what's the next step.
"I think that's exactly what his strategy is."
