The mainstream media will have to change their reverent tune on Wendy Davis and her quest for governor of Texas after a news story on dubious claims in her biography, says Charles Hurt, a columnist for The Washington Times.
"There is no way that the media can continue to treat her as a legitimate person running for office. There is no way," Hurt told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Davis, the Democratic candidate for governor, has acknowledged that several key details in her public personal narrative do not match the facts.
The Texas state senator, who rose to national fame for her 13-hour filibuster against new abortion restrictions,
acknowledged to The Dallas Morning News that there were chronological errors and incomplete details in what she and her advisers said about her life.
"My language should be tighter," she told the newspaper. "I'm learning about using broader, looser language. I need to be more focused on the detail."
Hurt told Malzberg: "I know that you're going to tell me that, no, I'm crazy, The New York Times and all of these people have fallen in love with her . . . I don't believe it. It is beyond my imagination."
