The sister of Charles "Chic" Burlingame — the pilot of the hijacked American Airlines jet flown into the Pentagon by al-Qaida terrorists on 9/11 — said she "speaks" with him often about that fateful day.
"I actually have an internal dialogue with him," Debra Burlingame, who cofounded "9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America," told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"[I tell him], 'Chic, can you believe they're doing this?' So it's a new relationship with him which is bittersweet. He is laughing. He is laughing because I was a big liberal before 9/11. We used to have tons of arguments on politics."
"I've really changed the way I look at the world. I really launched an effort to find out, first, what happened on 9/11 and that led me deeper and deeper into the government, the way bureaucracies work."
Burlingame remembers her brother as a patriot who deeply loved his country and loved to serve it.
"He spent eight years as a carrier-based elite Naval aviator and then another 17 as a reservist for the Navy. He actually volunteered for the Gulf War and he worked at the Pentagon," she said.
"He was an Eagle Scout. He was an all-American kid."
