A top-to-bottom shakeup of the Secret Service is needed after recent breaches of security surrounding the protection of the president, says Bill Kristol, founder and editor of The Weekly Standard and political commentator for ABC News.
"It's a case where they need to really examine the whole culture there and shake it up, probably," Kristol said Wednesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on
Newsmax TV.
"We'll see if the president is serious about that."

Kristol's suggestion came as Secret Service Director Julia Pierson resigned in the wake of a knife-wielding intruder entering the White House and an armed, unauthorized man riding an elevator with the president.
Kristol is keeping his fingers crossed that the Ebola virus does not spread in the United States, after news that a man with Ebola has been admitted into a Texas hospital.
"Obviously, I hope that the CDC's right, I hope the thing doesn't spread, I hope that they're being very careful," he said.
