Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik says Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein adopted an incredibly snarky attitude as he testified before the House Judiciary Committee about the FBI's probe into whether President Donald Trump or his associates helped Russia interfere in the 2016 election.

And it's a demeanor that would get many other officials fired, Kerik added.

"I've never seen [leadership at the Justice Department] this bad. And there are two things that stand out to me: [his] snarkiness, his audacity," Kerik said on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live."

"He was offended by being questioned about his leadership, and about the chain of command. He was acting like this is someone else's responsibility— 'I have no idea of what they did, it had nothing to do with me.'

"You are the deputy attorney general of the United States. The FBI reports directly to you, the deputy director and the director of the FBI have had problems in that agency. You mean to tell me you have no idea what's going on? That's bizarre. If it was a commanding general, a police chief or a commissioner, they would be fired."

The House has approved a GOP-backed resolution demanding the Justice Department turn over all remaining documents sought by congressional committees about the Russia probe. The measure calls for full compliance by July 6, but it doesn't say what will happen if Rosenstein and the department fail to meet that date.
