While Republicans mark big wins nationwide, some Democratic surprises are likely, Democratic political campaigner Ben Wikler told
Newsmax TV's J.D. Hayworth and Ed Berliner on Tuesday night.
"I have to say, as a Democrat myself, tonight's not the best night of my life," Wikler said.

Even so, Wikler said he's thinking a great deal about Republican Scott Brown, who lost in New Hampshire on Tuesday night to incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
Brown "has done an amazing thing by losing two Senate elections in two states in two years and a day," said Wikler. "That's a pretty impressive record, and I can't really think of anyone else in American history who can boast about that."
But some things are not surprising, he said, including seeing Minnesota Sen. Al Franken "cruise to re-election, and this is an election that six years ago people would have thought maybe would have gone against Al or would have been a nail-biter like the last one. "
Franken won his first election as senator by a 0.01 percent margin, "one of the closest margins in any Senate election in U.S. history, and tonight he's resoundingly been re-elected. He's demonstrated that he's a great senator for the people of Minnesota," Wikler said.
He said he's still holding out hope for bright spots in Alaska and North Carolina, which he called a "giant, giant, hard-fought contest.'
He went on to describe the Senate races in Iowa and Colorado as "nail-biters" that could determine the fate of the Senate, along with the possibility of a runoff in Louisiana.
