The initial whistleblower to file a report about President Donald Trump's July 25 telephone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy wrote a memo one day after learning about the call, saying the White House official had described the conversation "crazy" and "frightening."

The two-page memo, obtained by Fox News, used more dramatic language than had been used in the formal complaint, calling the conversation between the two presidents "completely lacking in substance related to national security."

The whistleblower said the conversation with the White House officials only lasted a few minutes and that he or she "only received highlights," but also noted that Trump "did not raise security assistance" from Zelenskiy during the call.

The formal complaint led House Democrats to launch a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump after claims were made that he pressed Ukraine to investigate Democratic candidate Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who had been on the board of a major Ukrainian natural gas company.

The memo differed from some statements made by the White House, however, including criticism that the transcript that was released of the call was a summary.

Instead, the writer said, "standard practice" is for the "White House situation room to produce a word-for-word transcript that memorializes the call."

The whistleblower also wrote in the memo that the White House official reported that Trump told Zelenskiy he would send his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani to Ukraine and requested Zelensky meet with him.

In the official transcript released by the White House, however, Zelenskiy was quoted as saying "we are hoping very much that Mr. Giuliani will be able to travel to Ukraine and we will meet once he comes to Ukraine.”

Fox News reports the whistleblower's attorneys did not respond to a request for comment.
