Holder: WikiLeaks Founder Is on Our Radar

The release of classified documents by the group WikiLeaks hurt the Obama administration as much as anyone. And Attorney General Eric Holder suggests the White House may go after Wiki chief Julian Assange, Politico reports.

“I look at the law as it exists, and ... there is a real basis to believe that crimes have been committed here,” Holder told reporters. While Assange is an Australian citizen, “to the extent that we can find anybody breaking U.S. law ... they will be held responsible,” Holder says. “They will be held accountable.”

The government has launched “an active, ongoing criminal investigation” into WikiLeaks’ treachery, he says. And Holder urges news organizations to “act in a responsible manner” in dealing with Wiki’s information.
