Leading veterans' groups are disturbed by the way veterans are portrayed in the new season of the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black."
In the fourth season of the drama about a women's prison , military veterans have been hired as guards.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars called the show "offensive" while Iraq And Afghanistan Veterans Of America said it will further stigmatize veterans.
The veterans' groups say they take issue with the way the new guards disparage the inmates and talk about their combat experiences.
Netflix didn't respond to multiple messages seeking comment.
The VFW spoke out Thursday after Air Force veteran Tahlia Burton wrote an opinion piece saying she's appalled by the portrayal.
