The Trump Organization is still exploring whether it should sell its lease on its Washington, D.C., hotel, President Donald Trump's oldest son, Donald Jr., said Wednesday, while also slamming Democratic front-runner Joe Biden's son Hunter and his international business practices.
"Listen, we’ll explore it," he told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "The reality is this: Everyone’s saying we’re getting so rich. We can’t rent rooms to people who are in other governments...we can’t maximize the assets.
But the organization has "literally volunteered to not do any new international deals," said Trump Jr.
“It’s D.C.," he said. "It’s all international business, and we chose not to do that, and then every time we do, we get another lawsuit about this and another lawsuit. It’s almost easier just to stay away from it.”
The Trump International, located not far from the White House, has faced several lawsuits accusing the president of profiting from his office.
Trump Jr. also slammed Democratic front-runner Joe Biden's son, Hunter, and his international business practices.
'Unlike Hunter Biden, who magically became an international businessman the second he father stopped on the world stage as VP, we've been international business people for decades," he said. "But we can't even do those kinds of deals anymore. We can't even continue, because we chose not to. We didn't think it was appropriate. So that is the double standard."
Meanwhile, he complained that "goalposts are neverending" on Democrats' push to remove his father from office, and have been since 2016 when he was first elected.
He also said Democrats pushing for his father's impeachment are treating the testimony of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who testified Tuesday that he raised concerns about the president's conversation with Ukraine's president as they did with special counsel Robert Mueller.
"They do the usual thing," he said. "They bring in a guy who is beyond reproach, like (Robert) Mueller...it took about 30 seconds for people to realize when they put him on the stand...it was a joke. Now they will do it with this guy."
