Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday night retweeted a collage that included an image of the Bush family next to a swastika, then deleted it Wednesday morning.
Shortly after Trump retweeted the image, Jeb Bush campaign spokeswoman Kristy Campbell linked to it, referencing another recent controversial retweet by the billionaire rival.
Earlier in the campaign, Trump retweeted a comment suggesting he had fallen in the polls because Iowans' minds were addled by Monsanto corn. He later deleted the remark, writing that a “young intern” had apologized for it.
On Wednesday, Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks e-mailed, “This was retweeted by Mr. Trump like hundreds of others. He did not see the accompanying image and the retweet has since been deleted.”
