Just a few days before Robert Mueller is scheduled to testify before Congress about the Russia probe, President Donald Trump renewed attacks against the former special counsel.
"Highly conflicted Robert Mueller should not be given another bite at the apple," the president wrote in a tweet on Monday. "In the end it will be bad for him and the phony Democrats in Congress who have done nothing but waste time on this ridiculous Witch Hunt. Result of the Mueller Report, NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION!..."
Trump has repeatedly leveled these charges against Mueller during the two years of the investigation in an attempt to undermine his credibility, The Hill reported.
The president sent out another tweet stating that, despite his opposition to Mueller's testimony, "the questions should be asked, why were all of Clinton's people given immunity, and why were the text messages of Peter S and his lover, Lisa Page, deleted and destroyed right after they left Mueller, and after we requested them (this is Illegal)?"
Mueller is scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees on Wednesday. This is the first time the former special counsel will answer questions concerning the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election and possible obstruction by Trump.
