The administration of President Donald Trump will take the case regarding the release of documents related to his decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to the Supreme Court, The Hill reported Friday.
Politico reporter Josh Gerstein tweeted:
The Department of Justice (DOJ) attempted to stop a federal judge's order that would allow for the release of memos, emails and other documents related to Trump's decision to end DACA. A three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the DOJ effort to prevent their release.
Trump announced in September he would end the DACA program that began under former President Barack Obama allowing certain people who had come to the U.S illegally as minors a temporary reprieve whereby they could stay in the country and work. The move sparked an uproar by certain immigration supporters.
