Joe Biden is running on character and honesty, but if he does not show character and give an honest response to Tony Bobulinski's allegations, he will just be showing more "bad judgment," according to the Wall Street Journal editorial board.
"Joe Biden is asking voters to elect him on the strength of his character, honesty and judgment – which is why Mr. Biden owes a response to new allegations about his son Hunter’s business deals," the board wrote in an editorial after the Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" interview with Bobulinski.
Bobulinski has rebuked the Biden campaign's dismissal of the Hunter Biden laptop findings as "Russian disinformation." Also, Bobulinski called it "blatant lie" for Joe Biden repeated denials of knowing what business his son Hunter was conducting overseas, specifically with Ukraine and the Chinese Communist Party.
"The Bobulinski material suggests the Chinese engaged Hunter not for his financial prowess, but for his connections and influence," the board concluded.
"Nearly all of the press is ignoring this story, and Mr. Biden's strategy is to ignore it as well and run out the election clock. But Mr. Bobulinski's evidence is too detailed and credible to go away. Much of the campaign against Donald Trump as a threat to U.S. security has concerned his personal business interests, especially with foreigners.
"Mr. Biden should want to contrast himself by explaining his role in assisting Hunter’s business, and his rationale for doing so."
