Newly released documents show that golfer Tiger Woods solicited a meeting with Hillary Clinton shortly after his Thanksgiving 2009 fight with his now ex-wife.

The New York Post cites emails obtained by Citizens United between Doug Band of the Clinton Foundation and top Clinton aide Huma Abedin discussing Woods' email to Clinton, who at the time was serving as secretary of state.

"Tiger Woods wants to speak to her regarding the congo For real," Band wrote to Abedin on Dec. 12, 2009. Two weeks prior, Woods and Elin Nordegren had a highly publicized fight at home because Woods had been cheating on her with several women.

"Honest to betsy," Abedin replied to Band, who then wrote, "Don't discuss with hrc until we speak."

Abedin then said, "Uh, hello. U think I'm crazy."

The Post reports that "congo" was referring to Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. Woods used to put on a charity golf tournament there.

The emails released do not say whether Woods and Clinton actually met.

Woods was once the world's top-ranked golfer but has struggled in the years since his marriage fell apart amid public scrutiny of his infidelities and also an injured back.
